October 2014: Distal Embolization in Femoropopliteal

Distal Embolization in Femoropopliteal Interventions are associated with amputations, and increase procedure time and length of hospital stay. Distal embolization occurs in every vascular intervention, and clinically significant events are more common with CTO’s, long, irregular and calcified lesions, atherectomy and mechanical thrombectomy. Note: Capture’s MegaVac System prevents distal embolization.
